We so enjoyed our visit to the Russian Tea Room. One Easter Sunday (2017) we walked up 5th Ave from our hotel on 28th Street, passing thru the festivities of the Easter Parade. since we were seeing a 3pm show we booked for as early as possible. Everything was delightful. Our waitress Olga was adorable as well as helpful. She explained the menu and made requested suggestions and took photos for us. The food was all good and everyone had a taste of everyone elses' dishes. The beautiful main dining room was just as depicted online. We were invited to ride the elevator upstairs to view that dining area, which we were hoping to do.

The Russian Tea Room is often overlooked in planning a dinner pre-theater. It is a beautiful venue whose ambiance makers it a perfect spot for any special occasion.
The service is superb and it has an interesting menu which, is not a conventional one nut does offer numerous well thought out and prepared appetizers and entree that would please the most discriminating palate.

Brought my family here for their first experience of "High Tea" and they loved it. Serve as always is impeccable and the food, tea, desserts were delicious. For the price it was a great buy and experience. I love it !!

Great experience overall although we had to ask a waiter to serve us because no one approached us at first. Other than that, very friendly staff and very accommodating.

I hadn't booked the Russian Tearoom previously because I'd always thought of it as a tourist place, but it turned out to be lovely and most of the people there when we were seemed to be going to Carnegie Hall or City Center. The two of us were seated in a nice big red leather booth and enjoyed the ambiance, looking at all the many pictures on the walls as well as the variety of decorative samovars. The service was excellent, right up to the time we wanted the check, when there was a bit of a wait, but we were in plenty of time for our 7 p.m. curtain anyway. My husband ordered orange juice, and it seemed to be fresh squeezed, but cost $12! All the food from the Restaurant Week menu that we had was delicious, especially their version of borscht, which wasn't quite what I had expected. Nor was my beef stroganoff, which featured a single piece of tender and tasty beef, and the generous amount of mushrooms in the sauce were delicious, too. All in all, a lovely start to our evening and we'll be back (though maybe not ordering orange juice).
